Xbox help? Can they catch viruses?

My husband ordered fight night round 3 off ebay a few weeks ago and ever since we've been playing it, the system has been messing up. freezing and whatnot. can you get viruses?

They're haven't been any reported cases of viruses on the xbox. More than likely it's either a heat issue or a problem with the DVD reader. Make sure the vents on the side are free of dust and aren't blocked by anything, that may help. The link I added discusses a little about why it is VERY unlikely a virus.

I think someone has hacked or modded the game, this has happened before from getting games on Ebay.
Most likely this is NOT a virus, however, if it is JUST THIS GAME, its probably the disk. If it will happen in other games, ur system is getting too hot cause lots of people had freeze up problems. Put it in a cool place, and DO NOT PUT your power box on the carpet!
The new 360's most certainly can. I'm not sure how you would scan it or fix the problem, but there should be information on their website.

Other possibilities:

* You could have a bad copy of the game disc (especially if it's pirated).

* No matter what you've heard from the company, some games run better on the 'deluxe' 360 than on the 'basic' model.

Then again, it's a Microsoft product so that could be normal operation. :)
yes cause you go online with your phone line (XBOX LIVE) so you can get viruses like all computers. if you buy a disc that has a virus on it cause it is a copy or tampered you can also get one.
