I have Norton anti-virus and microsoft defender, I've searched them both thoroughly and can't find this function. If it's possible to scan for viruses before downloading content, How? With which anti-virus program? Is it a free download or do you have to buy it? Please provide site for download, thanks!

The safest way is to choose the 'save' option when downloading. After downloading do not select 'run' or 'open'. Instead just close the window and then go to the folder you just downloaded and right click on it and select 'Scan with Norton'. If nothing is found then you can open the folder and install it by double clicking on it. If it is infected do not open, just delete it. Sorry I could not find this link earlier, about the 7th paragraph explains. Also your Windows Defender scans as you are downloading.

Have a good software downloader where you can embed a scan check for your antivirus as you are downloading a file.
try mcafee siteadvisor.it is a free download.
before downloading it its kinda difficult to check for viruses, the most important thing is to check the file for viruses aftre you download it and BEFORE you open it (run it)
