Does Limewire give your computer viruses (only people who use limewire answer!!)?

Ok so i just got a new vaio laptop and i wanted to download lime wire

DOES IT REALLY GIVE YOUR COMPUTER VIRUSES ONLY PEOPLE WITH PAST EXPERIENCES ANSWER.

i already have frostwire and so far its been smooth sailing so are they basically the same?

Yes... There is the potential of getting viruses through Limewire. But there is also the potential of getting viruses through email, web browsing, and just about anything else when you are connected to the internet.

Just make sure you have updated virus protection installed.

Some particular files do, I've been using it for a while and haven't encountered any viruses, but i'm sure there a viruses in Limewire. Just don't download suspicious items (always download the ones with good ratings and stars) and it will be a smooth sailing ride.

Limewire itself will not give you a virus. It's what you download that has the possibility of a virus. Be especially careful if you like to download games and emulators, as they generally have more viruses hidden within them.
Had it for 4 years and never had a problem.
yes i had it and something i downloaded gave me virus I don't use it anymore as for the people who say they havn't gotten any virus its just a matter of downloading the WrONG file and Pow! virus
Ive had lime wire for some time now and Ive have yet to encounter any problems.
It is the software you download from limewire IE: movies, music, etc that gives you virus's
Limewire is like anything else that you can download from the internet all have virus potential, but if you are fully protected you should be ok. I am.
