Does gimp have any known viruses?

i want to download it but i really just want to make sure that there arent any cases of viruses. i googled it and i wasnt getting much reliable info. thnxthnxthnx

Like any executable is /could/ be infected by a virus. Just make sure you download it from a trusted source, and check it with a virus scanner (just as with any other software you ever download)

i've been using gimp over the last year or so and have had absolutely no problems with it... except for the long startup time that is, but i seriously doubt that it contains any viruses, just make sure you download it from the *OFFICIAL* gimp site (www.gimp.org/downloads/), and not other places eg. warez sites etc, as they could add viruses in. same goes for the runtime environment, official site only!(www.download.com/3000-2192-1028027...

I had it and used it for a year or so, and in that time I've had 4 different virus sweepers on and running, and none of them have had a problem with it. (I only seem to have problems with what other ppl download!)

As a side note, be sure to install the runtime environment and stuff in order.
