Why am I getting recurrent viruses?

In the last two months I have had two viruses, which start off as a bad pain in the side of my adams apple, I have no sore throat but feel dreadful, achy and very tired. I am 41.

check to see if your glands on your neck are up. if they are, consult you GP immediatley. it maybe that the virus wasn't killed off properly and it's come back in another form

It may be some kind of autoimmune disorder. Your Dr. can order tests and make a dx based on blood test results and your symptoms.
The average person gets 7 viral respiratory illnesses a year, that is one every 7 weeks. Most patients and many doctors have no idea that infection is that frequent. Most is very minor and self limiting!
It may simply be bad luck. Perhaps you are unduly exposed at work for some reason. I wouldn't be worried just yet but if this pattern continues in the future you might need a checkup to be sure there is nounderlying immunological problem or defect.
You may have an immune deficiency that you are unaware of. There are many types of these and it will take a doctor to find out what is the on that you have. If you have rheumatoid arthritis or hypothyroidism these will affect your immune system. There are many ways to have an immune problem and it would be one way that you keep getting viral infections. Check it out with your doc before something bad happens. Have a great day and hope that this is not a big thing for you! Oh and there is also fybromyalgia (big sp. check on that) but it has started to affect people more every day. It appears as the same symptoms that you have.
