Is lime wire safe? (besides viruses)?

ok, I know you can get many viruses from lime wire, as i have in the past, but what about large files? Like big apps? If you use these is there any way you can get in trouble for installing them. i know its illegal, but i was just wondering if there was any way they can track you or something...

(and im not saying i am going to download a large app)

I had a lot of problems with Limewire because most of the files were corrupt or had pop ups attached. I highly recommend using Ares. U do have to pay a one time fee but believe me it's worth what I have downloaded, especially stuff u shouldn't be able to get a hold of yet, if u know what I mean. Also it's totally anonymous when ur downloading so no worries.
Yes, they can often track you because the installed program might attempt to send details over the internet of the computer that it's installed on. IE, yours.
Limewire downloads from the gnutella network. It is safe enough (no file sharing network is 100% safe). So if you stick to just video files and audio file you SHOULD be ok (no guarantees, there never is). But I recommend you download from the Bittorrent network. You can't get one tenth from the gnutella network of what you can get withe the Bittorrent network and Bittorrent is by far safer.
